NEET

“Students undergo NEET Entrance Examination training at Shrie Shrie Academy Full-time (1 year - after completing Class XII or 2 years - after completing Class X) or Part-time (Weekend Batches while persuing Class XI & XII).

NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (NEET-UG) is an entrance examination conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) in Pen and Paper mode, for admission to undergraduate medical education in medical colleges in India. NEET (UG) is conducted in 13 languages which include: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. (Source: www.neet.nta.nic.in).

NEET for Whom:

NEET is an entrance examination for students studying or completed Class XII to join government or private medical colleges, deemed universities throughout India and abroad, and centrally funded institutions like All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) to persue MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BUMS, BSMS and BHMS courses.

NEET @ Shrie Shrie Academy:

Faculty members from different parts of the country having experience in NEET Program teach the students with concepts and discuss the model questions to excel. For this purpose, the students are taught the chapters of Physics, Chemistry and Biology with clarity of concepts and several practice worksheets. During the program, students face NEET pattern exams every week with the chapters completed. On completion of the syllabus, students are revised thoroughly with several practice questions and full syllabus mock exams.

NEET Exam Pattern:

NEET exam is conducted for 3 hours 20 minutes with 200 questions in total, of which students will attend 180 questions. All questions are MCQs. Student should choose one best answer from the four options given. For every correct answer student will get +4 marks and for every wrong answer student will get -1 mark for the total score of 720 marks. Answers will be bubbled in Machine Readable OMR Sheet. The exam include syllabus of Class XI & XII (Refer: www.neet.nta.nic.in) for Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology. Questions are equally distributed for all four subjects.

For every subject, student will have two sections to solve with 50 questions in total.

Section A – without choice 35 questions

Section B – to choose 10 questions to attend out of 15

Eligibility Criteria to write NEET Exam:

Age Limit:The minimum age limit to appear for NEET-UG is 17 years as of December 31, of the year of his/her admission to the first year Undergraduate Medical Courses. There is no upper age limit for the exam.

Educational Qualification: Students must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology as mandatory subjects from a recognized board/university. Students must secure at least 50% marks for the general category, 40% marks (SC/ST/OBC), 45% marks for general physical handicap, and 40% marks (SC/ST/OBC-PH) as aggregate scores in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and have English as a subject in Class XII.

NEET Exam Pattern:

NEET examination can be attempted by students from India or abroad in offline mode in the listed examination centers. Admission to medical colleges and universities in India is done through State and All India quota counseling conducted. 85% seats of the government medical colleges and 100% seats of private medical colleges are filled through state quota counseling. Admission to AIIMS, JIPMER, deemed universities and 15% seats of the government medical colleges are filled through AIQ counseling.

SQ: Indian Nationals having the nativity certificate of a specific state can participate in admission counseling for the State quota seats of the specific state. In Tamilnadu, SQ counseling is conducted by Tamilnadu Directorate of Medical Education.

AIQ: Indian Nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), and Foreign Nationals are eligible for 15% of All India Quota Seats. The students who have received education abroad and wish to seek admission into medical colleges in India must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English with 50% marks in class 12 and their equivalency determined by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as per regulations of the Medical Council of India and the concerned University. For more details refer to the Information Bulletin. Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) conducts AIQ counseling for admission.
